The brand's name comes from the verb to remember in latin. Just like our creations, the verb is unique in its conjugation patterns and its usage often reflects a deeper understanding of actions and events in the past, connecting one with memories and experiences crucial for narrative and story contexts.
As he is the fourth generation of craftsmen in his family, yet owns almost nothing to remember them, the founder of Meminĕrō Studio always heard stories about his strong legacy without anything to touch or feel. What was not lost to time was destroyed and that absence became the seed of everything we do together now.
In a world drowning in digital, we have unfortunately forgotten what it means to hold something real. Yet some things are still irreplaceable : the smell of home, the warm feeling you had when you saw that art piece, the texture and fabric a special object had, the colour of the sky when you fell in love or the voice you heard during a special moment.
We believe that the textures and weight of a significant object carry stories, that they are vessels for every experience and every moment we live. We created this brand because we needed it. Materials
We always and will always use the best materials available worldwide by only working with certified Leather Working Group tanneries who supply the best grade and traceable hides. However, where some brands use cheap fabric and/or derivatives, while using the brand name as a value of quality, we made the decision to offer a real leather experience with full leather lining and reinformements as it was since the early days of leathercraft.
Every pieces are designed in Belgium and assembled in Catalonia, Spain to ensure beautiful craftsmanship while continuing the art and legacy of this incredible region. We chose Igualada to purposely bring light on amazing human beings whom carry a legacy of over 700 years .
In order to uphold our values, we have taken the decision to concentrate our entire supply chain in Catalonia. Our decision to choose Catalonia, rather than other more affordable global hubs, was driven by heart rather than strategy. While searching for manufacturers, we were immediately drawn to Igualada and its heritage. The technical precision of Catalan tanneries, their Leather Working Group certifications and expertise aligned perfectly with our brand’s ethos.
By designing our products in Belgium, sourcing leather from Igualada and manufacturing our products in the Catalan region, we are be able to establish short supply chains and reduce our environmental footprint while highlighthing one of the world’s best skills and craftsmanship area. Each of our products carry the label Made in Catalonia, Spain to share the knowledge and pride of the northern spanish gem.
